The Liberec Region of Czech Republic
The Liberec Region has loads to offer visitors to the Czech Republic despite being the second smallest region in the country. From traditional glass manufacturing to stunning scenery looking over endless nature and mountain ranges, the area has so much to offer.
The Liberec Region lies to the north of the Czech Republic, and is around an hour’s drive away by car or public transport from Prague, and borders both Poland and Germany.
The exciting natural environment of Liberec makes for a perfect location for adventure lovers. Located within a Bohemian paradise and surrounded by deep green forests and views of the Jizera mountains, these are all great reasons to visit the region.
Let me take you on an adventure around the Liberec Region of the Czech Repulic.
Enjoy a day of hiking around the Jizera mountains
The Czech Republic has one of the biggest hiking networks in Europe, and many parts of the trail network run through the Liberec region.
Around the Mala Skala area of Jizera mountains you will find a trail system of caves and coves that you can jump in and out of which adds a super fun element to a hiking trail.
Along the way you will find many spectacular viewing points for the surrounding Liberec region and you will start to understand why they call this area the pearl of Bohemian paradise.
Dine at Jested Tower, Liberec
A highlight of visiting the region of Liberec has to be the fine dining experience on offer at the Jested tower. Construction of this unique TV tower started in 1963, and the idea was to also open up an exclusive hotel and restaurant on top of the Jested mountain.
Many visitors often mistake the building for a spaceship due to its interesting and unique design. This place makes for a perfect dining experience during sunset.
Jested tower serves as a predominant attraction in the city, especially as a place to oversee stunning views of the surrounding Bohemia paradise from this unique building.
Explore the old town square of Liberec city
One of the most beautiful spots in Liberec has to be the old town square where you can enjoy the unique and historic design of the town hall that dominates the square.
Be sure to spend some time in the square – it’s a perfect location to enjoy a beer and sit out in the sun.
If you would like to explore more of Liberec the town has a bicycle rental system that works by using an app. Jump on a bicycle and see where it might take you.
One suggestion would be to head on over to the university area and arrange a picnic lunch pick up service to take to a close by park. You can arrange a pick up lunch with a local coffee shop called Bez Conceptu that offers this service.
Feeling up for a challenge? Why not head on over to The Chamber and try an escape room. See if you can solve the mystery in time before the clock runs out. A super fun activity to try with a group of friends in Liberec.

Hotel Jitrava and fine dining
If you’re after a fancy escape, how about the Hotel Jitrava which has an Austrian mountain hut feel with spa facilities and fine dining?
Most of the ingredients on the menu are sourced from the owner’s own farm, and they’re very proud of their home grown products and dish creations on the menu. Worth staying just for the steak alone, it was sensational.

Disover Harrachov in the summer time
Normally Harrachov is known for it’s winter skiing tracks, cross country skiing and ski jumping but the resort town is also open in the summer time. The cable cart can take you to the top of the Certova hora mountain.
Why not take the cable cart up to enjoy the views of surrounding Harrachov from above, then head back down the hill to the town by kick scooter.
You can easily rent a kick scooter from the town and take it with you on the cable cart, making this a fun half day activity.
