Visit Dublin, Ireland: A Breath of Fresh Air in Autumn

  • by Dave Brett

Autumn is my favourite time to visit Dublin as it has this magical warm feel that surrounds the city with its wide selection of historical buildings and cobbled streets.

It’s fun to explore Dublin when it’s a little chilly as the locals choose to opt for warm, cosy local pubs instead in search of for their evening entertainment.

Its homely atmosphere is what makes Dublin one of my favourite weekend get aways around Europe during Autumn.

Here are some other reasons why I love to explore and travel around Dublin this time of year.

Loads of Hostels to choose from, it’s the perfect city for backpackers

Dublin is full of Hostels, you have an endless choice to choose from,

It’s almost full of hostels on every corner, making it a fun backpackers destination.

This is one reason you should visit as they have a large choice of affordable accommodation options to choose from.

My hostel of choice is Isaacs Hostel Dublin, located along Frenchmans Lane. Your stay includes free wifi and breakfast and Did you know they also have a Sauna?

How’s that for a hostel!

It’s a cosy hostel located in an old style building and the staff are both local and friendly who are happy to give you loads of tips about what to do out and around the city, enjoy your stay!

Enjoy the local Irish Pub grub cuisine

(Irish Breakfast, ummmm…. Take me to Dublin now!)

Irish Food is homely food, its full hearty and I love it!

The most typical Irish food you can find will be in a traditional Irish pub setting serving up either an Irish Breakfast in the morning or a traditional carvery in the evening.

Be sure to try a pint of Guinness the local Dublin tipple, which you will struggle to find better quality outside of Dublin.

All Guinness comes Straight from the storehouse in Dublin, this is how Guinness should be served and enjoyed, be sure to enjoy this creamy treat given every opportunity when in Dublin, sláinte!

If you have some spare time the Guinness storehouse is a must visit on a trip to the city. Learn about the popular pint in an interactive visitor centre experience. Not to be missed.

Perfect for live Irish Music and entertainment

Soon you will find a pub in Dublin playing traditional Irish music till the early hours, Dublin has a deep history, tradition when it comes to performing and you will find a wide variety of different Irish instruments being used, even a flute sometimes!

Get lost, find an Irish bar, Grab a pint of Guinness and enjoy the Dublins way of doing live entertainment its one night not to be missed.
