Travel Dave Annual review 2012
Each year I put together an Annual Review to reflect on what has happened over the past year and share future plans for Travel Dave.
Lots of Plans and exciting news this year, So heres a sneak peek of what’s to come in 2013 at Travel Dave.
New Website Re-Design
Its time for a Facelift. For a long time I’ve used the same WordPress layout and it’s just not working at the moment and could be allot better. That’s why Travel Dave has teamed up with TomInc to come up with something more exciting, something that really works and makes Travel Dave awesome to re-visit and navigate around. Not only will a redesign occur, but lots of extra features will be implemented into the new design.
I can’t wait and I’m excited to share all these new changes with you in the future and expect the new website to launch in February.
So This will be the last post of January and I thank you for being patient during the redesign as the site will be taken down and taken apart and might look a little funny.
But it will be up and running again in no time and I’ll let you all know when the new change is functioning again.
E-Book Launch
(book design also with thanks to TomInc)
Along with the new website will be a new E-book available for all to read.
It’s been in the making for a very long time and I’m very excited to share it with you all. I’ve always wanted to write a book to help people travel and Its great to have finally pulled it off. The Book will be called Travel Hacking and will be available on the Amazon Kindle as well as other Digital devices in other formats from Travel Dave Directly. Once the new website is up and running so will the book and I will let you all know when it becomes available. Hard copies and an Audio version will follow also sometime in the year.
Tilburg University
2013 will also be the year where I will graduate in my Masters at Tilburg University in Business communications and social Media, Really excited to get my Masters and grateful for all the wonderful information I’ve been able to pick up in such a short time relating to Social Media. It’s a really fun and new area and can’t wait to be apart of it in some way.
European Rail Adventure
Put on hold from last year but still on my TO-DO list, Would love to try the European Rail challenge and visit every European country in one Month. I have plans to film it and turn it into a Web series In which I hope will attract Sponsors to the adventure and help with the funding. But I can always bring along my sleeping bag and cook stove and do it on a shoestring budget (Which adds to the fun). Who knows what might happen from that, possibly the rest of the world? Will see.
AIESEC Internship
The wonderful Thing about going to University is not only the education and networking but the wonderful opportunities that are open to you. Thats when I discovered the AIESEC program in Tilburg and I’ve just applied for an Internship. The Program I’ve applied for is called the YES program that links Entrepreneurs up with each other around the globe and helps to work together to create better ideas through cultural learning. I’m currently awaiting my interview at this stage but If selected I could get the change to work and live for 3 months in either: Moscow, Brazil, Dubai or Shanghai. This is a very exciting opportunity and looking forward to seeing how it all turns out.
Canada scout moot 2013
I’ve been selected to represent the UK Scouting association in Canada for the 2013 Scout Moot. Its a Jamboree/Camp that brings together scouts 18-25 from all around the world to meet and learn about each others culture. I’m very excited to be apart of this and was very shocked to have an article about me with a message from Bear Grylls himself! Little shocked, but awesome non the less.
TBEX Toronto & World Domination Summit Portland
Travel Dave is all about kicking off in 2013 and that’s Why I’ve lined up a visit to two events in the US and Canada to meet other Bloggers and business minded folk to gather lots of interesting information and to help make Travel Dave kick ass awesome into the new year and beyond. Looking forward to meeting lots of interesting people at these two events.
So that’s the plan for 2013 and as you can see Allot on the books but its promising to be an amazing experience That I Can’t wait to kick off. Bring on 2013!
