Offering all the standard features of a regular bank, including a current account, savings account, overdraft and credit services, B stands out in that you can access all of these things in one sleek, intuitively-designed app.
On launch day (April 27th), Studio B will host a national competition offering one lucky winner the chance to live rent free for a year in the country’s most expensive neighbourhood.
Let me first tell you all about B digital banking and how it could be a great solution for saving up for your first house deposit or that dream adventure trip you’ve always wanted to take. More about the competition below.
What is B digital banking
B is a brand new digital banking service on an inspiring mission to help the hard-working millennials of this country save their money and reach for their life goals.
B is a new service from Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank. The fact that this app is a modern collaboration between two long-standing and trusted institutions means this is a fresh, funky banking service you can really rely on and trust.
Their tagline and mission is “to take the fear out of finance”, and every aspect of the B app is tailored for easy use, and easy savings.
Inspiration behind B
The inspiration from the app was drawn from the lifestyle and health tech sector. The creators at Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank wanted to bring the aesthetics and joy of use commonly found on those kind of services to the banking world.
It’s an exciting time to get in on a service that allows you to manage your money with every modern convenience.
B is easy to use
Getting all your financial matters organised in one place that you can access with a flick of your thumb really helps when it comes to watching your spending.
You’ll be surprised how easy it is to siphon off a percentage of your income and put it straight into a savings account, when all it takes is a few taps from within your main banking app.
Check your current balance easily, tap in your own expenditure commitments, and set a low balance limit to warn you off hitting the bottom of your bank account.
The app comes with some pretty nifty extra features that use tech wizardry to help you monitor your own financial behavior, and budget like a pro.
B’s Projections feature uses everything it knows about you to predict how the end of your month might look.
Additional features of the B digital banking service
Other features enable you to have more active control over the amount that you take off of your income and put away.
You’ll find that this kind of ease helps you hit your savings target sooner than you think. It’s a lot simpler to put your spare money away when you barely even have to think about it!
Other features include a setting that automatically sweeps any money left in your current account into your savings account at the end of the month.
Saving becomes easier with B
B’s Savings Pots features can keep you on track to big savings too, helping you decide how much you can save and when.
You can create different Savings Pots for different financial goals, meaning you don’t have to be as tempted to blow all of your savings for something like a house deposit when you’re on that big annual trip that you’ve pinched the pennies so hard to achieve.
Available on both Apple and Android devices, B users can sign up for a current account and an instant access savings account. Customers can also manage other Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank accounts through the app.
