For now, here is a list of my top 10 Instagram locations worth checking out across the United States of America.
1. Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco
Golden Gate Bridge is one of my all-time favourite locations to capture on camera in the United states. The sun hits the bridge perfectly all day making for amazing lighting conditions, perfect for a sunset/sunrise as long as you get a clear or misty day. The Golden Gate Bridge is a winner all year round.
2. Rocky Mountains, Yellow Stone National Park
The Rocky Mountains are iconic in their own right. Be sure to arrive early in the morning for a sunrise over the mountains as this is a popular sunrise shot and can get busy in the summer months.
3. Grand Canyon National Park
The most wonderful thing about capturing the Grand Canyon is the stunning colour changes all throughout the day. You will never have the same photos as any other tourist due to the contrast changing hourly. For the ultimate snap, take a helicopter tour for that perfect shot.
4. Niagra Falls (US side)
Not the Canadian side this time, but you can still see the fall in all its glory from a unique and different angle on the US side. No need to go down in a barrel for this photo! Enjoy from the safety of the viewing platform.
5. Cloud Gate, Chicago
Yep, the Cloud Gate looks pretty much like one giant shiny bean. Still, don’t let that fool you as the reflection can be super cool for an awesome Instagram photo.
Great fun for taking photos and one of my most favourite spots to get some arty shots for the ‘gram.
6. Las Vegas Strip, Nevada
You’ve got to love how randomly placed this strip is in the desert. It still baffles me to this day why it’s here, but it is and it’s here to stay. Enjoy capturing the Sin City, be it night or day, for some ultimate Instagram photography. The lights of this crazy town will sparkle for you from up above. Head to the top of the Stratosphere for a good overview shot.
7. Central Park, New York City
Grab a coffee and enjoy the morning! Rise with the sun as the park comes to life with locals. I love how you can still find peace in the city centre of New York, the city that never sleeps. This park is great for capturing those unique moments of everyday life.
8. Grand Central Station, New York City
Watch the buzz of the commuters arriving at Grand Central station as thousands flock to the city each day. You will soon understand exactly why this station has become so iconic in all the movies. In all its glory, a great location to capture.
9. The White House, Washington D.C.
Maybe I’m biased as I’m a huge fan of House of Cards, and love the intro segment enough to get the White House into my top 10. Enjoy a world-class sunset which is often a perfect time to capture the home of the President of the United States.
10. Wild Card: Epcot, Disney World, Florida.
Call me silly, but I just find the Epcot building iconic. It represents the future and the world of tomorrow, and all the fascination and hope that means. But really it is just one giant golf ball. I could take pictures of this structure all day long making it my winning wild card.
