Travel around Europe with the St Christopher’s Inns app

I love to discover new ways to make travel assessable, any app or service I can find that makes life exploring the world that little bit more easier still excites me.
I was invited by awesome hostel group St. Christopher’s Inn, to road test their new booking app.
I’m not surprised that a hostel chain that prides itself on excellent accommodation for backpackers has come up with such an easy to use and convenient app.
To put the St Christopher’s Inns app to the test I got my backpack ready to go and used the app to stay at 5 different hostel locations all over Europe in 7 days!
Can you imagine the number of booking emails and faffing around you’d have to go through to get that many hostels booked up for a Euro trip and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Especially when it comes to travel, you want to remain as flexible as possible.
The service really did just make this trip easier, and using the same hostel brand for a whole trip like this comes with some nifty perks too. Let me tell you all about them in this blog post:
A New Way to Meet – chat before you arrive
This app gives you access to an all exclusive social network for backpackers, right in your hostel! You can meet new people in your hostel with real-time chat functionality provided within the app.
Basically, you can arrange to have beers with new friends before you’ve even arrived!
Great for solo travellers like me, and I think it’s a really neat thing for people who are perhaps a bit shy or going backpacking for the first time and find it easier to strike up a conversation in person.
You might even find your next true love! Who knows!
Who says the internet has to be an anti-social place?
Manage Bookings on the go
With the excellent bookings centre it’s super easy to modify, upgrade and store all your trips in one place.
You can check-in online super quickly to skip the queue on arrival and also contact reception directly making everything easy and smooth.
And now with EU data roaming laws making it that phone companies have to let you use your data allowance while you’re abroad across the EU, it’s even easier to rely on incredible apps like this to get your trip organized on the fly!
Using this app is a breeze to sort out your booking when things go wrong – which they usually do! If a standard disaster happens like a cancelled train or bus you can still enjoy peace of mind knowing that you’re not going to get locked out of your hotel or waste money on a booking that you can’t use anymore.
No Booking Fees – easy peasy, lemon squeezy
You can book St Christopher’s Inns award-winning hostels across Europe and the UK – with no booking fee! Just pay what you owe when you arrive. You really cannot find a more flexible but also more reliable service.
Earn rewards as you travel
The more you use the app, the more credits you’ll earn. Use your credits or save them for your next trip or city tour, up to you.
I even scored free breakfasts using the app in Paris Nord, Great for those expensive cities such as Paris when you really need a good (and ideally free!) meal to get you going in the morning.
Secure, Fast and Hassle-Free
Your details are securely saved when using the app, so you don’t have to enter your address and payment details every time you need a place to sleep.
Add different payment methods and use multiple currency options – make travel fun again!
Best Prices Guaranteed
You can get the best offers and rates as St Christopher’s Inn. They publish the most affordable prices they offer on their app, so you can book straight up with the best value hostel.
Always bag the best prices directly with St Christopher’s Inn by using the app – you won’t beat those prices and the savings add up. Save loads of time not having to run around all the different booking sites.
These are the 5 hostels I stayed at using the St. Christopher’s inn app
I started my crazy weeklong trip in Copenhagen and used an Interrail train pass to travel across Europe for a week.
Here is how I got on with the app exploring Europe one booking at a time.
St Christophers Inn Downtown Copenhagen hostel
The downtown hostel in Copenhagen has truly got everything you need and was voted Best Hotel in Denmark by Hostelworld in 2012, 2014 and 2015!
Each room has been designed by a local artist so you can kick back in cutting edge comfort and style.
St Christopher’s at the Bauhaus, Bruges hostel
Then I headed over to the historical city of Bruges to experience a different flavour of St. Christopher’s Inn hostel altogether.
This hostel has futuristic POD beds which give you more privacy than a dorm, and also it’s very own Belgian beer bar. Spend some time at the Bauhaus and go through its endless beer menu, it might take a while.
St Christophers Inn Paris Gare Du Nord hostel
There are 2 St. Christopher’s Inn hostels in Paris and I stayed in the Gare du Nord one – can’t get more central than that!
Voted Most Popular Hotel in Paris 2017 by Hostelworld, this hostel also has the super cool POD beds and includes free breakfast. Plus, Belushi’s bar downstairs is a guaranteed party every night!
Balmer’s hostel, Interlaken.
The first every private hostel in Switzerland takes you right up into Interlaken and is the perfect place to hit the Swiss slopes, and then get down and party with some other lively backpackers afterwards!
The location is stunning, the atmosphere is electric and there is even a 7 person rooftop Jacuzzi for perfect après-ski relaxation. You can even try the camping experience down the road if you want to connect with nature.
Something about this place, maybe it’s the history, it just has a great style and an awesome vibe to the hostel.
St Christophers Inn Barcelona hostel
Situated just 50m from the top of Plaça Catalunya at the top of Las Ramblas, you’re right around the corner from the incredible La Boqueria food market and walking distance from some of Barcelona’s most treasured cultural icons.
Wake up in your stylish pod bed and walk down Las Ramblas until you get to La Barceloneta beach. A perfect way to end your European adventure.
It’s incredible how many cities I managed to travel to all in the space of a week, and how easy it was having all of my accommodation bookings managed in all in one place, it for sure made the trip as easy as possible.
If you’re off on a whistle-stop tour of Europe you should seriously consider downloading the St. Christopher’s app and making your travels simpler too.
