Rhossili Beach in the Gower Peninsula of Wales

Rhossili Beach is located along the Gower Peninsula in the south of Wales and is commonly mentioned amongst the top 10 best beaches around the world.
Visiting the Gower region, I had heard much about Rhossili Bay and had to check out this view for myself.
Welsh rain or shine I hear it’s pretty spectacular and with only a short drive away from Swansea, if you happen to be in the area, why not?
The Gower Peninsula is listed and recognised as an Area Of Outstanding Natural beauty in the UK and was given the title back in 1946.
This year marks the 60th Anniversary for the Gower Peninsula which makes it an even more special time to visit and enjoy the region’s celebration of being a part of the AONB family.
Rhossili Bay is also part of the Welsh coastal walking path. Wales is still one of the only countries in the world where you can walk the complete coast by Coastal path. You can start here if you dare!

Rhossili Beach in all its beauty!
(Totally worth the trip for the view alone.)
You can instantly tell when you arrive why this area is listed as an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, its jaw dropping, whatever the weather.
Wales has some hidden gems, but a top 10 beach is not what first comes to mind. Come and see it for yourself and you will soon understand why it makes the list.
Rhossili Costal walk
(It’s a lovely walk around the cliffs. )
Before you head down to the beach, do walk around the coastal walk, its sign posted from the bus arrival area.
You can walk around and explore the cliffs, it can get windy to so hold onto your hat!
You want to spend a couple of hours here, an added tea spot with the over looking view is a nice addition to the itinerary if you have the time.
exploring Rhossili Beach
I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves.
Best spot to view Rhossili?
(From the top view point or the beach? )
It’s a tough call where to best view Rhossili beach, so why not try both!
Both were enjoyable, be sure that if you go down to the beach you’re fit enough to get back up! It’s a steep climb back up!
Before you go home, grab a pot of Welsh tea and a slice of cake.
(Would be a crime not to with a view like this! )
After all that walking, you’ve earned it. Head to the top to find a cafe called: The Bay Bistro.
Here they serve an impressive selection of home made cakes and Welsh brewed pots of tea.
If you want a Travel Dave tip the scones looked pretty good. Enjoy the view its stunning!
