Hostel Review: Hangout Hotel @MT Emily, Singapore
“No Frills, Just Fun!”
On my recent travels to Singapore, I decided to stay at the Hangout Hotel @Mt Emily.
Located close to Little India and Orchard road, it made the perfect location for my Stay in Singapore.
It was a lot different from the normal Hostels I had stayed at before but still with a backpacker-friendly price tag.
In fact, it wasn’t a Hostel at all it was more like a backpackers Hotel.
That’s why I decided to write a blog about this unique budget hotel/hostel concept.
So what makes Hangout Hotel so special and why should you stay here on your next visit to Singapore?
The location is spot on with only a short walk to Little India MRT Station or a 10-minute walk to Orchard Road.
a lot of effort has been put into making backpackers feel welcome @Hangout hotel.
Everything you could possibly need is available to you, which is just perfect After a long flight from Europe.
That’s why I was happy to pay a little extra for the added comfort, but in total, a night’s stay was not that much at all.
So what’s the added extras, I was talking about?
• Free Wifi
• Free tea, coffee, hot water (for instant noodles) & your first bottle of water (so you could refill it)
• Free baggage storage
• Free Towel (always a bonus)
• Free Hot Buffet Breakfast
• Hot showers with free Shower gel included
It was all included which is always a welcomed bonus.
You just want a comfortable nights sleep to get yourself back into the local time zone and get over your jet lag.
The dorm rooms were a lovely surprise, no bunk beds insight, single beds with Duvets, very fancy.
The Dorm room was well air-conditioned which was perfect for the Singaporean heat and every Dorm bed had its own storage pod.
The pod was a storage area with an International plug (no adaptor needed!), A lamp for reading so you didn’t disturb others in the room and a storage unit that come with a lock and key to keep all your stuff safe and secure.
Another great aspect about the hotel was the friendly staff, they had so much information to offer about what to do in Singapore with an added local feel.
After a short helpful conversation, I was all set to explore Singapore over the weekend.
Every time I entered the lobby, they remembered my name, they even remembered that I had stayed at Hangout Hotel in the past which was a nice touch.
Be sure to ask them for advice on places to eat, never had a bad recommendation.
One of the hidden gems about Hangout hotel is the Roof top garden called “Look Out”.
Great views of the city skyline from the top and it’s a perfect location for chilling in the Sun during the day on the sun loungers.
You can also enjoy a peaceful sunset at night time.
Lots of hangout spaces around the hotel to enjoy once you have spent the whole day exploring Singapore.
I’m looking forward to staying with them again in the close future and hanging out once more!.
