Amazon Kindle for backpackers

Amazon Kindle for backpackers

Many gadgets cross my path with little impact at all.

I’m a early adopter with most things, but never have I been so impressed by a device than the withAmazon Kindle.

The Amazon Kindle for backpackers

I had to write a review about why the Amazon Kindle is so great for backpackers.

First, I was shocked by the shear weight and the size of it.

It’s extremely light weight and easy to hold with only one hand.

Digital book size is around KB’s which take up no space on the Amazon Kindle at all which has a capacity of 2GB, which is plenty enough for Thousands of book (pretty much endless).

But most noticeable is its battery life.

The Amazon Kindle lasts a whopping 2 months on one charge.

It’s hard enough getting your Smart phone going longer than a day, let alone your laptop.

For those long overland backpacking trips, this is the perfect device to keep you entertained for long hours. When everything else fails, the Amazon Kindle just keeps on going.

Reading is the perfect form of entertainment for long journeys or long lazy days on the beach.

You can always rely on the Amazon Kindle to keep going.

Don’t have to carry heavy travel guidebooks

I no longer own any physical books any more, after owning the Amazon Kindle I have turned completely digital.

Books available on the Kindle store have dramatically increased in recent years, it’s not that difficult to find the book you want online in digital form.

For all those backpackers looking at creating a minimalist lifestyle, the Amazon Kindle is the perfect device.

I remember once having to pack three bulky Lonely planet guide books in my backpack.

It almost took up half my bag space.

Now you can own the digital versions and store them on your Amazon Kindle perfectly.

Turn iPhone off and kindle on

The 3G is unbelievable, I have no idea how or why it works, but I secretly keep on taking as much of the free 3G I can when I roam abroad

It’s free, easy and good for the basic stuff I need the web on the go for.

You can check Wikipedia for history, book a reservation at a Restaurant in Dubai, looked up a hotel in Helsinki, tweet a friend in St Petersburg and still it keeps on working, for free!

I have to admit I Don’t normally read a lot of books.

But the Kindle has just made the reading environment so much easier for me.

The E-ink is miles better than an LCD screen and it’s noticeably a lot better once you dive into a book and you end up reading the whole thing without realizing.

I know it sounds silly, but as you physically don’t have to turn a page and you can skim and click a button to flick to the next page it is a lot quicker

I’ve gone from reading 3-4 books in my whole life to 30 within a year.

With the Amazon Kindle, Travelling is fun again!

Now I look forward to the train rides and long haul flights as I can dig into a book and get lost in time.

Never before have I been able to keep my whole library, including my Lonely planet guide books in my back pocket its mind blowing.

The moment I put the device into peoples hands for the first time, I instantly see how blown away people are from this device.

The experience between a real book and E-Ink is so close in comparison it looks unreal.

Books instantly Appear on the Kindle from a one click purchase on an Amazon account.

We are talking about from payment for reading around 10 Seconds to download over wifi, it’s super quick!

Not only this, but my whole Kindle library is also accessible on any one of my Kindle app’s on many of my multiple devices, such as: iPhone, iPad, my Kindle App on my Mac.

Bookmarked pages also sync with the cloud without me having to worry or do anything, extremely happy with the service.

When I buy a book for roughly £3 I feel like I own it like a real book with no sense of it being locked down or tied to a single device, I just love it.

Buying international books abroad are affordable. Travelling with a Kindle, helps you to save a lot of money on English books whilst travelling. English versions of books abroad cost a small fortune, now you have an affordable option, at a click of a button!

So what are you waiting for?

Go get yourself an Amazon Kindle!

Do you already own one? What do you think about it? Please leave a comment in the section below, thank you:
