Travel Dave’s Adventure Travel Christmas list 2015

  • by Dave Brett
Adventure Travel Christmas list

It’s that time of year again When Travel Dave puts together one of his ultimate Travel gift lists to help gear up for the Christmas holidays.

This year I’ve added a fun twist and decided to go along with a theme, Adventure Travel. This 2015 Travel Dave Christmas list will be focusing on travel gear related to adventure traveller’s.

It can be a tricky endeavour to find that perfect gift for travellers Constantly going on adventure’s, as minimal packing is often the case and it can be difficult to find something they will find useful.

I hope you’re ready to gear up your friends or family with these top 5 adventure items I wouldn’t miss out on my Christmas list, enjoy the read and I hope it’s helpful.

Dave’s Adventure Travel Christmas list 2015

1.Go Pro HERO

GO PRO HERO
(Happy with my purchase of the Go Pro Hero this year, a new addition to my kit, awesome, it’s waterproof and shockproof, perfect for Adventure Travel)

The most affordable Go Pro in the line, this basic model does the trick for capturing those perfect action shots. I’m a big fan of filming and taking pictures with the iPhone 6 Plus, but when it comes to the rugged elements I keep my phone away and pull out my Go Pro Hero.

This little handy Video camera won’t break the bank, and includes a built in fully water proof housing to ensure that your Go Pro Hero is air tight to battle the elements.

GOPR0014
(Perfect for capturing those adventure moments in the water)

For me, it’s a basic introduction to the Go Pro family that works well for its intended purpose at a fantastic price, well worth the investment as a secondary camera and a welcomed gift for Adventure Traveller’s

2.Water Proof Dry bags

(Water proof dry bag, perfect to use for water sports or any adventure travel on the sea)

I first tried these dry bags out on a recent watersports trip to Langkawi, Malaysia and they worked extremely well.

Travelling with only Hand luggage, I found these handy heavy duty dry bags make a perfect bug out bag for day trips and watersports adventures.

They keep all your valuables dry and come along with a shoulder strap to sling the bag over your shoulder and make it easy to carry enough of your daily items that you don’t want to keep in your swim trunk pocket’s and get wet.

(Easy pack away clip on strap to turn your dry bag into a day bag)

Great for holding your wallet, sun lotion, a bottle of water and mobile phone and a pack light towel, the bag is easy to seal by rolling and clipping the top of the dry bag, very simple to use and quick to access to.

Happy to add this additional item to my kit in 2015 and makes a perfect gift for any water sports adventure traveller. I’ve noticed a few travellers picking one up for themselves once they noticed me wearing one.

Even Urban surroundings, they make a great day bag.

3. The North Face E-Tip gloves

(The built in E-Tip technology allows you to use your smartphones, touch screen without the need to take off your gloves)

These light weight Skin tight gloves are perfect for keeping your hands warm in cold conditions, perfect to use whilst out and about in the Winter enjoying snow sports.

I’ve been using the North Face E-Tip Gloves for a few years now and been very happy with them for one simple reason.

Constantly I seek to take photos on my touch screen smart phone, but having to take your gloves off each time is frustrating.

Focus on your adventure and use The North Face E-Tip gloves and you can easily at a touch of the button use your smart phone still wearing the gloves what ever the weather.

Perfect for when you want to keep your hands warm in cold conditions and capture that perfect photo or maybe send a tweet of your adventure.

4.DC Skater shoes

(Perfect shoes for adventure travel)

When it comes to travelling, you will always catch me wearing my DC skate shoes.

Back in the days when I used to skate everywhere (Such a cool kid), I’ve never been able to get rid of my skater shoes, they seem to work well for adventure travel.

As I started travelling around the same time as when I stopped skating, I found the wide souls very comfortable and made them perfect for long term travel, I stumbled across this by accident and happy I made this choice, I’ve never looked back on Skater Shoes.

When you do a lot of Adventure travel like me, the flatness of DC Shoes seems to work well and I’ve stuck with them, perfect for any adventure around Europe.

5. Steel reinforced Carabiner charging cable by Nomad

31XKYqnINXL
(Rugged and ready to sync and charge your devices no matter what the elements)

This compact Steel reinforced carabiner charging cable by Nomad easily clips onto the side of your backpack or belt loop and tucks away securely until you need it.

If there is one thing I hate the most that is tangled cables, with this one you will never have to face this issue ever again and can spend that untangling time catching a wave instead (Perfect!).

Perfect for travelling and its heavy duty design means its rugged for any adventure travellers next trip.

Thank you for reading Travel Dave’s top 5 adventure travel Christmas list for 2015, I hope you found it useful and helped towards kitting up those adventurers in your life. Have a wonderful festive season and have many awesome adventures in 2016.
