Aquaplanet PACE SUP Stand Up Inflatable Paddle Board

  • by Dave Brett
Gear review: Aquaplanet PACE SUP Stand Up Inflatable Paddle Board

Stand up paddle boarding, also referred to as SUP is a growing adventure watersports activity in the UK.

SUP boards come in a variety of designs and for those who don’t have much space, the Inflatable models are handy for their compact size and easy storage.

With many stand up paddleboards on the market it’s hard to choose which model will work for you.

When I was asked by Aquaplanet to review their latest SUP model called the PACE, I wanted to try it out.

My brother Eddie offered to help and took the SUP out on a local lake in North Wales to try it for a test paddle.

Here is his review of the Aquaplanet PACE SUP Stand Up Inflatable Paddle Board:

First impressions of the PACE SUP Stand Up Inflatable Paddle Board

pb7

Decided to go for a brisk paddle board across a lake so off I ventured to Llyn Geirionydd in North Wales.

A truly stunning site for a paddle board’s maiden voyage.

I was a little apprehensive at first because I’ve never assembled a paddle board before and I’m not a fan of reading instructions either.

However, as soon as I laid out all the items it made sense and I was pumping the board up in no time.

Getting started with the pump

pb28

The pump provided in the set was brilliant, as it fills the board with air on both the down and up pumps so it had reached its optimum air pressure in no time.

I thought id be pumping for ages, this was a cool feature for an express pump.

Whilst unpackaging all the components for the first time I was impressed with the quality, nothing felt cheap or weak which is reassuring from a safety sense when you’re going out onto the water.

It comes with a repair kit and a nifty little waterproof bag/sack which was a nice touch.

What was the stand up paddle board like out on the water

pb3

I enjoyed my time on the board and the fact that I can’t mention anything I didn’t like is only a good thing.

It’s durable, easy to assemble and floats. What more would you want from a SUP?

My favourite part of my experience with the aquaplanet paddle board was how easy it was to pack away.

I thought it would take ages to pack down and that I would never get it easily back into the bag.

But it was all rather simple to pack away.

Simply release the valve and roll out all the air.

pb29

The best bit about all the kit was the storage system.

The storage bag provided is rather spacious so if you’re in a rush and can’t be bothered to perfectly roll all the air out into a neat shape, it’ll still fit into the storage bag.

The storage bag provided is fantastic for packing away all the kit into one easy to manage place.

All the items in the complete kit such as the pump fit into the transport bag and with the use of the provided straps
you can transform the bag into a rucksack for easy transportation.

Final verdict on the stand up paddle board

pb24

Everything about the stand up paddle board kit was good quality and for that, I applaud how well it was all put together.

I’d recommend to anyone in the market looking to purchase a paddle board to check out the Aquaplanet PACE SUP Stand Up Inflatable Paddle Board.

although I’m a novice paddleboarder, I had a lot of fun and look forward to going out on the water again with the Aquaplanet PACE SUP Stand Up Inflatable Paddle Board.
